The Partnership Fund for New York City was founded by Henry Kravis of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. in 1996 with funding from New York’s leaders of business and finance. The Partnership Fund mobilizes its investors resource—their money, time and influence—to create jobs, spur new business creation and to expand opportunities for all of the city’s residents and neighborhoods. An “evergreen” fund, realized gains are continuously reinvested. Since inception, the Fund has invested in excess of $150 million. Investments are made only in New York City-based enterprises principally in the areas of digital health, financial technology, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, health care, workforce development and food manufacturing.
The New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) is a not-for-profit organization working in partnership with the New York State Department of Health to improve healthcare by collaboratively leading, connecting, and integrating health information exchange across the State. On behalf of the State, NYeC leads the advancement of the Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY), a network connecting healthcare providers statewide, develops policies and standards that support the utilization of health technologies, and assists healthcare providers in adopting and effectively using electronic health records.
The Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY) is a “network of networks” comprised of New York’s eight regional Qualified Entities (QEs). The QEs connect electronic health records from participating providers in their region, including those from hospitals, clinics, labs, radiologists, and ambulatory physicians, and, with patient consent, allow those records to be shared securely with other providers in their area. The SHIN-NY interconnects the regional networks to create a secure, statewide network designed to improve healthcare for all New Yorkers by ensuring that doctors have instant, accurate, and accessible information about their patients, anywhere and anytime. The SHIN-NY supports the State’s various value-based care initiatives moving healthcare towards a more fully integrated, patient-centric system. Today, the SHIN-NY connects 98% of hospitals in New York State, over 80,000 medical providers, and represents millions of people who live in or receive care in New York State.
